Italian yacht builder Benetti is ready to break a bottle over the bow of its latest semicustom creation, the Vivace 125.
The second ship to be added to the 142-year-old company’s new flagship Fast Displacement line, the yacht is a smaller sibling to the Benetti Veloce 140 introduced last year.
Designed by Stefano Righini and constructed from composite and carbon at Benetti’s boatyard in Viareggio, Italy, the 125-foot Vivace was also developed in close collaboration with Rolls-Royce, which designed the new carbon Azipull 65C pod engine exclusively for the yacht.
Benetti, in turn, maximizes the engine’s performance with a hybrid hull (capable of traveling through the water by displacement or planing, depending on speed) equipped with a wave-piercing bulbous bow to enhance hydrodynamic efficiency. As a result, the yacht can reach a top speed of 22 knots, or cruise at 12 knots for an extended range of 1,250 nautical miles.
The yacht’s layout gives guests plenty of room to move around, with three primary decks and an additional sundeck. The sense of space is amplified by vast glass windows spread horizontally throughout. On the front of the main deck, the owner’s apartments and four guest suites extend the full 27-foot beam. The first chance to catch a glance of the Benetti Vivace 125 will be at the Cannes Yachting Festival, September 8 through 13. (benettiyachts.it)
